  9. PrintManager v39 is a so called printer-spooler, it intercepts all printer.
  10. device calls to the parallel-/serial.device and saves the printer specific 
  11. raw data to a file. This way, programs sending data to the printer don't have 
  12. to wait for the slow printer to continue. PrintManager also gives you some 
  13. control over the data send to the printer. You can even print files directly 
  14. from inside PrintManager using the datatypes-system.

  17.  ° caches only printer.device calls
  18.  ° can cache all calls to parallel-/serial.device
  19.  ° allows to exclude certain tasks from spooling
  20.  ° nice gui which works with proportional fonts 
  21.  ° files can be printed from inside Printmanager (uses datatypes.lib)
  22.  ° works with datatypes.library v45 (v45 recommend, not required!)
  23.  ° own FAST parallel.device (registered version only)

  30. REQUIREMENTS
  31.  any Amiga (compatible) computer with at least AmigaOS3.0 and (of course:-)
  32.  a printer.

  34. NOTE
  35.  Although this program is based on Printmanager 2.0 by Nicola Salmoria, 
  36.  no part of the Printmanager v39 code has been taken from Nicolas
  37.  version (it is a complete new program)!

  39. HISTORY
  40.  39.0 first public release
  41.  39.1 some minor changes, new catalogs (polish and french)
  42.  39.2 bug fix: printing from inside PrintManager didn't work 
  43.       on non cybergfx systems. added version number to
  44.       commodity name. New tooltype DATEFMT. Added function
  45.       to rename jobs.
  46.  39.3 printing text files from inside PrtMan works now. DrawInfo
  47.       wasn't released. Changed GUI of 'rename ...' window.
  48.       Menuitems weren't always disabled/enabled, when the job list
  49.       changed. APPICON=ACTIVE didn't work when all jobs were placed
  50.       below « Next Job ». spool.device could crash the system when
  51.       removed from memory.
  52.  39.4 new print count funtion, internal changes in spool.device. czech
  53.       catalog. APPICONNAME tooltype wasn't saved correctly. SetPUNT
  54.       saved the printer preferences only to ENV:. serbian catalog.
  55.       security requester when trying to remove all jobs from list
  56.       and when trying to overwrite an already existing file by
  57.       'Jobs/Save as ...'. reworked listview. spool.device process
  58.       wasn't removed from memory on expunge. Added a compatiblity
  59.       kludge for printer.device v42, when printing files from
  60.       inside PrtManager (not the best solution yet). Fixed rounding
  61.       error.
  62.  39.5 PrintManager should work with pit.device (MFC) now. Updated serbian
  63.       and swedish catalog files. Empty files in SPOOLDRAWER are 
  64.       automatically deleted on startup.
  65.  39.6 Now works with HyperPAR.device. Integrated spool.device into
  66.       PrintManager. envvar SD_DEVICETYPE replaced by DEVICETYPE option.
  67.       NSCMD_QUERY is used to determine the type of the output device
  68.       (serial/parallel). Creates index file to speed up scanning of
  69.       spooldrawer. New options: DEVICEWEDGE, UNITWEDGE
  70.  39.7 commodity crashed when started a second time (only in 39.6).
  71.  39.8 INTERNAL RELEASE
  72.       new option: APPMENU. bug when taskname contained full path
  73.       (eg. SYS:Tools/xyz), AFAIK only occured when using ToolManager 2.x.
  74.  39.9b New option DELCOM. Now your programs can use an API that allows to 
  75.        change a jobs' name (see directory Developer). Index file will be 
  76.        saved 30 seconds after the last change of the job list. Enforcerhit
  77.        when settings were saved. Index reading function was broken. 
  78.        "Copies ..." / "Rename ..." window is now correctly centered within
  79.        the main window. New functions "Print once" / "Scheduler". listview
  80.        rounds up shown filesize now.
